Friday August 13th

WILL Today was truly a Bali experience to remember. We started the day with a great breakfast buffet, then went swimming for a while. After that, we left for the Kuta beach, where the bomb went off. I don't like beaches very much because they are all the same to me, so it didn't really strike me as something to remember. After that we went to the city where we bought some clothes for Allison. We also saw the ruins from the bomb that went off a few years ago, and it didn't really seem like anything happened there. After that, we went to see a statue of one of the Hindu gods, Vishnu, which was only 20% done and already gigantic. It was to be finished bigger than the statue of liberty and placed atop of a new Bali convention center. After that we went to a new monkey forest, which had more aggressive monkeys. One of the monkeys stole one of Allison's earrings, which she got half of back (it ate the other half). Some of the tourists got a pen and taunted the monkey for revenge by pretending to throw things at it as the monkey was running away. Back at home, someone would have probably done something, but here, people just stood back and watched. After that we went to dinner, where Mom and Jenna left because they where sick and I had a great pasta dinner. I also had Allison's cheeseburger. After that Dad tricked us into seeing a fish market with him, and then we went back home.
