Monday August 9th

WILL Today, after we ate breakfast, we went off on a ride to a waterfall. It was a long drive. First we went to a village where they had some snacks, drinks and a few animals. Among them were fruit bats and reticulated pythons. Actually, that's all they had. After that we visited the water temple by the bay. It was great but we where not allowed inside. After that we went off on another drive and ate lunch on the way to the waterfall. When we got there, Putu led the way and showed us some interesting things, such as cocoa beans, which were actually really bitter, but only when you sucked off the sweet layer. It didn't taste anything like chocolate. After that he showed us how to play one of the native Balinese instruments, but Mom didn't appreciate our musical prowess. After that we finished the walk and ended up at the waterfall. It was very small and we were very disappointed that we walked all that way to see a little manmade waterfall that was barely more than a fountain. After that we walked a few minutes farther to discover a giant waterfall that blasted water across the entire peninsula you saw it from. After that we walked back and went to dinner, after a pit stop to get some of Dad's favorite wine. It has 42% alcohol. After the stop we headed to dinner at the Indus restaurant. I had a great curry meal and the entire family loved it. We then headed home to sleep.
